Don't Distance Yourself!

The world is plagued with corruption, persecution and injustice in many forms and across many societies. Every era sees the misuse of power and fame by leaders who impose their rulings on the population.

Around 1400 years ago, in a society where corrupt practices were implemented out of fear, a gallant man refused to deny the truth and was steadfast in his mission towards righteousness.

Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet of Islam, was a man of unwavering justice and truth. His principles and responsibility towards society led him to bring about a positive change. His ideals were vehemently opposed and he faced the threat of persecution, yet his determination never faltered. After sacrificing all he had, including his companions, family members, and ultimately his own life, Hussain's message emerged successful, and it continues to resonate in the world today.

Modern day humanitarians "have learnt from Hussain how to be oppressed yet victorious" (Mahatma Gandhi). In light of the wars, genocides, and oppression that afflict humanity today, Hussain's message has taught us against passivity... How will you take action?
